Preserving the Launch of Skylab 1 Super8 Film Via Digital Transfer
This was filmed on our Father's Super8 Film Camera!
Our Father, an Apollo Skylab Launch Controller, was on the Skylab 2 Launch Team so he was able to watch the Skylab 1 launch with the family in the VIP area near the LCC.
Dad used his Super8 8mm camera to personally film the Launch of Skylab 1 from on Base at Kennedy Space Center.
The Digital Transfer of the Super8 was recently performed at The George Eastman Museum Film Lab in Rochester NY.
This Super8 footage is going to be cleaned and then scanned using a wet gate process sometime soon. The new footage will also be available for download at some point in the future!
